In 2012 the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors, in response to citizen concerns about reliable broadband and wireless services, requested that the Loudoun County Communications Commission complete an analysis that identified under served and unserved areas of Western Loudoun County (“Gap Analysis”). The Beacon Hill, Old Waterford Road and Route 7 area was identified as one of the locations that lacked service and was given the designator of Proposed Communications Tower Development Area 17 (“PCTDA 17”). Though the communities of Beacon Hill and Shenstone have broadband service by FiOS or Comcast, the areas along Old Waterford Road do not have access to broadband services. This proposed project will provide improved wireless coverage, capacity and speed in this area. The mobile data network utilized by the Loudoun County’s public safety network has material coverage issues in this area. This project will also address that coverage issue.
Invisible Towers has identified a location that will address the technical requirements for Old Waterford Road and Beacon Hill (PCTDA 17) while balancing the visual impact on community. The proposed tower would be located on the Clairvaux Equestrian Property along Farm Market Road. We are proposing a 100-foot Corten Steel™ structure that will turn rust brown and blend into the landscape. Each carrier installation platform will be shrouded with concealment panels that match this color and hide the carrier’s equipment from view. This broadband infrastructure will accommodate four (4) wireless carriers and broadband service providers.
