Aldie – What Will It Look Like?

What Will It Look Like?

The proposed secluded location was selected because of the elevation and mature existing tree canopy that is between 80 to 90 feet tall.  Invisible Towers is proposing a 148’ tall structure that will be concealed as a pine tree.  We flew a balloon at a height of 150 feet in an opening in the woods adjacent to the site   The photo simulations below show what the tree pole will look like once it is installed.  It is important to remember that antennas installed on the tree pole must be above the existing tree canopy to function and provide service to the Aldie community.

During discussions at our initial open house we were asked to consider alternative locations within the community as well as alternative tower design types. We are inviting members of the community to an open house to discuss our findings and present the alternative designs on Wednesday, August 21 at 7:00 PM at the Aldie United Methodist Church.

*Update* 6/3/2019

A community open house was held on February 5, 2019.  During the open house the community requested that we present alternative designs for consideration. Those alternative designs have been included below.  The first is a Corten Steel Monopole, Corten Steel develops a rust colored patina that blends well with trees in order to reduce visibility in forest environments.  This is the same design that will be utilized at Morven Park in Leesburg.  The second design is camouflaged as a bell tower.
